Communicasia 2008.
Advertorial
So i was invited last month
to *Communicasia*
for the launch of the new LG Secret phone
and the latest Yahoo! Onesearch.

Had our own lil' VIP lanyard
but they had unfortunately
spelled my surname as 'Chow'
instead of 'Chew'. -_-

Me and AlcoKirsten were late
despite given the meeting time
as we both had last minute work to rush.

At the LG Booth
having some snacks.
We had a chance to look around the booth
and get our hands on to test out the phones
before proceeding on to a short performance/show
by a couple of Korean dancers.

And with technologies (or cars for that matter),
there are always the pretty models
to compensate them.

Altho I can still
never figure out why.
Other bloggers who were invited as well:

After the preview,
we moved on to watch the demonstration
on the new Yahoo! Onesearch.

It's voice activated
and it can detect almost any accent
from the Indian slang to Singlish for Singaporeans!
They are still working on having
Chinese installed
and is unfortunately now available
only for Blackberries users.
This new mobile search
provides immediate searches on
every movie show times, weather, business listings,
fiance markets, sports, news, events,
and even the lastest celebrity out-and-about gossips!
Just name it
and speak-to-it!
It's that easy!
The best part was...

They were giving away
free ice-cream!

The poor girl was stuck
working at the Samsung booth
where me and Kirsten
went to visit!

And last but not least,
the *man* who made it all possible.

AlcoKirsten spotted these girls
in this cute yellow uniforms
as we were leaving.
Anyone interested? heh.

Tempered glass
The main frame of the new black LG series
with silver acents makes it seemed
absolutely sophisicated and glamourous.
Now newly improved,
it has an extra scratch resistant
LCD display,
which gives clumsy people like me
more better news to handle.
And trust me,
Ive 'accidentally' tried
(dropping it against the glass table)
while looking over it at the Communicasia event. -_-
Yey for scratch resistant! >_<

Neon touch navigation
It's blue neon touch navigation
that has a cool ripple effect
was the first thing that caught the boyfriend's eye
when he examined my new phone.
It gives a delicate, light vibration
when scrolling thru
on the touchscreen pads.
Carbon fiber
Now this.
has. to. be. the. it. factor.
My fave part
because its scratch resistant! heh.
It's strong enough to resist scratches
and yet appealing with the 3D patterned on her back.
Absolutely chic.
Slim 5MP camera
I was telling my baby sister
how the built-in camera was 5 megapixel
and her reaction was,
"That's as much as my own camera. -_-" haha!
Anyway,
this slim 11.8mm thick camera
recaptures a variety of essence from
ISO800 enabling a very clear picture quality
from low light to high-speed 120 fps Video recording
that catches every moving detail.
Now i honestly dont look
in anything for the cameras
when buying a new phone
but i am seriously impressed
by the clearity of the DivX Video recording
and its play back function
on its 2.4 inch LCD screen.
I was told it also tracks face motion
but ive yet to test that out.
Auto Luminance Control
Now this is cool.
She auto adjusts her screen brightness
according to the ambience brightness around her,
which is great as i use to stress out
trying to cover my previous phone's screen
with my hand when im outdoors under the sun,
just trying to see what is on the freaking screen. -_-
It's also great
as this automatically saves on battery.
Auto Rotating Display
Her display offers an eazy screen size adjustment
and horizontal and vertical rotation display
of the screen.
She also auto adjusts
according to hand movement
and whether when viewing a video clip or documents.
Ive not tried it on mine
but ive seen the demonstration
at Communicasia itself.
Touch Media
The touchscreen phone
gives you access to
music, photos, documents, games
and FM radio
without sliding up your phone.
Oh if those
still dont convince you enough,
I found this video of YouTube.
Sure to tickle
your interest.

All packages should came with
a USB plug, an ear phone set
and a travel adapter along
with LG Secret's hand mannual.
The best part is that its pre-installed
with Google and HSDPA package
which i can never bother installing myself. >_<
The only thing is that
despite me already previously using
a touchpad Samsung phone,
i am still trying
to get use to its sensitivity
for the LG Secret.
Was told its out at retail
RM1,999 in Malaysia
and about S$768 in Singapore.
(Then again, it depends on the retailer.)
Out in stores now.

Style that lasts.
